There’s always a way to get involved in the BAC whether you’re a student, postdoc, faculty or staff member. Getting involved can mean anything from a time commitment to a donation of money or supplies to a suggestion for an additional avenue for outreach. Undergraduate students, Graduate students & Postdocs
- Become a member – join the BAC and donate your time to our various outreach activities. Please email us at bac@wfu.edu for additional information about membership. If you would like to volunteer at a BAC event, you may request access to our wiki. You must create a free Wikispaces account to make a request to join the wiki.
- Share your ideas – we are always looking for new outreach ideas including presentations, seminar topics, and interactive games for school children.
- Donate supplies – provide the BAC with leftover or gently used office, lab or educational supplies.
Faculty & Staff
- Encourage student and postdoc participation – a minimal time commitment from your students and postdocs has huge benefits including teaching experience, improved communication skills, networking with our sponsors and investment in giving back to the community.
- Donate your time – faculty and staff are welcome to volunteer for monthly school visits and other outreach activities. Total time commitment ranges from 30-90 min depending on the particular activity. Sign up here for email announcements about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
- Donate brains – we are always looking for new human and animal specimen regardless of species. Please email us at bac@wfu.edu for information on how to prepare a specimen for donation.
- Donate supplies – the BAC is always in need of various office, laboratory and art supplies. We accept new and gently used items including, but not limited to, non-latex gloves, pipe cleaners, educational literature and other resources and gift cards to Target and Kinkos.
- Share your ideas – we are always looking for new outreach ideas including presentations, seminar topics, and interactive games for school children.
